About Us
Hilldale Homes is based in Paterson, NSW. We are a team of licensed carpenters and apprentices, headed by principal builder James Callum. James has over 20+ years of experience in building and carpentry, starting his career in Sydney, before moving to Paterson in 2017 and later establishing Hilldale Homes.
We have significant experience working on a wide variety of projects, designs and budgets.

Our expertise spans a wide range of projects and budgets, from very large to very small. We have built everything from multimillion dollar homes on the North Shore of Sydney, to undertaking works on heritage projects that require significant restoration and remediation. We have even worked on rural projects that entail sleeping in tents to get the job done!

James Callum and his team at Hilldale Homes transformed a basically derelict, rambling, 1910 sandstone homestead in the Bylong Valley for us.
Every skill was required to make ‘Wigelmar’ beautiful again. James knew where to find all the expert tradies including stonemasons to work on the old house. His attention to detail, in keeping with the era of the house was appreciated.
James rebuilt the old structure, bringing it up to modern standards but keeping its country charm. This helped us achieve a top resale value with many people amazed by the transformation on the old stone homestead.
